What Nidova stores about you
Almost nothing, and none of it is passed around. There's no advertising here, so there's no reason to know anything about you beyond what it takes to teach you Swedish.
The short version
- It keeps your account and your learning history — what you've studied and how well you remembered it. Without that there's nothing to review and no progress to show you.
- Nothing about you is sold, shared or used to train anything. No ad networks, no analytics, no third-party trackers. The only other companies involved are the ones renting me the server and the backup storage, because the database has to live somewhere.
- It stays in Europe: the server is in Stockholm, backups in encrypted storage in western Europe.
- You can have a copy of it, or have it deleted, whenever you ask.
The account itself doesn't need an email address. If you sent one when you asked for an invite, it's sitting in an inbox and nowhere else.
Getting a copy, or deleting it
Ask and I'll do it — no form, no support queue. It's your right under GDPR, and it's also just how this works.
How long it is kept
As long as you have an account. Checking whether you still remember a word months later is the whole point, and that only works if the history is there.
If this changes
Nidova is still being built, so new features will arrive and some will store new things. The part above stays: nothing about you goes to anyone else, and you can always get your data out. If that ever changes, I'll tell you directly.
